Neighbour Benefit Scheme

The Goombi Renewable Energy Hub’s Community Benefit Package includes a Neighbour Benefit Scheme aimed at sharing benefits with households living closest to our turbines.

Households within three and a half kilometres of a wind turbine and who are not hosting wind turbines, may be eligible for annual payments as part of our Neighbour Benefit Scheme (NBS).
Participation in the program is voluntary.

Annual payments will be made to eligible landowners that elect to participate in the NBS based on the following:

  1. The number of wind turbines, and proximity of the wind turbines, to their residence;

  2. Be paid annually from the commencement of wind turbines being erected;

  3. Be adjusted annually by CPI to account for inflation.

The NBS annual payment amount will be calculated based on the sliding scale shown below, with closer turbines attracting a higher per turbine payment. The table further below provides three examples of indicative households located within proximity to the wind farm.
